FACTS ABOUT SLOW DEER

70-100 cm Food: Grass

A bouncy deer animal!
When the fallow deer makes its way, it can look quite special and a little funny. When fleeing, they jump forward on all four legs at the same time with straight legs! They are incredibly agile and nimble, they can jump up to two meters high!
Fallow deer are social herd animals
The hinds, as the female animals are called, live in small family groups together with their calves. Often the animals are related to each other. When the calves have grown up and become independent, they then live alone or in small groups with male animals.
The fallow deer communicates with its black and white tail. With the help of the tail, the fallow deer shows its mood, and can also warn the herd of possible dangers.
Handjuren låter under brunsten
