Many people know Skåne Zoo and have fond memories of pleasant days in the park. It is perhaps not so strange considering that Skåne Zoo opened its doors for the first time back in 1952. But since then a lot has happened, and you who have not been to the park for decades will certainly see new sides of the park. The road to the new Skåne Zoo is still in full swing. Each season we bring new learnings to the park to create the most magical experience for our guests!
In 2015, the Norwegian Lund Group took over the operation of Skåne Zoo. Since then, several millions have been invested and the park has undergone a major transformation. Sheep Shaun Land, carefully designed feeding expeditions, Expedition UPP (suspension bridges among the treetops) and discovery passes that turn the visit into an adventure are some of the innovations that make a big difference for the park's guests. Every season has its own unique charm, and with a season ticket you can experience magic from Easter to autumn.
Skåne Zoo is beautifully situated in the heart of Skåne, a few kilometers north of Höör. There are adventures and activities for the whole family here! By playing and discovering, children get to know animals & nature in a playful way, while you create memories for life.
About 70 different species of Nordic animals live in the park,
everything from bears and wolves to moose, seals and red foxes. Since its inception, the park has lived by the slogan "no animals in cages", and the animals live in large, fine enclosures where attempts have been made to recreate their natural environment. Every day, the park's guests can join the animal keepers in a day program where we get to know the animals together. See when they are fed or activated, and hear the animal keepers tell more about the Nordic animals.
Sheep Shaun Land
is one of the later additions. In a 20,000 square meter country paradise, the smallest guests can greet their favorites from film and TV. Every day Shaun the Sheep, Bitzer or Timmy the Lamb come out to find fun and receive lots of hugs. In Shaun the Sheep Land there is also a long tractor track with self-driving Massey Fergusson tractors where the whole family can take a ride. After the tour, you can of course get your very own tractor driver's license!
Expedition UP
is an adventure path above ground where you can spy on the animals in the enclosure below in a unique and awesome way. The suspension bridges wind their way over red deer and wolves and offer a fantastic view of the park.
Camp Oak
is the magical tent village that makes it possible to sleep over in the middle of the zoo, and maybe even fall asleep to the sound of the wolves howling. In a two-day experience, guests live wilderness life in a safe way. We cook over an open fire and meet the animals outside closing hours.
